Current position

Research engineer at ISAE-SUPAERO in the Applied Mathematics group of DISC since September 2016.

Past position

Senior scientist in the Parallel Algorithms Project at CERFACS.


January 2018 : Thibaut Lunet has successfully defended his PhD thesis on parallel in time methods for the solution of hyperbolic PDEs. Congratulations !
Thibaut Lunet is now a postdoctoral fellow at University of Geneva, Switzerland.

 Research interests

My primary research interests are scientific computing, in particular, the design and analysis of numerical algorithms for the solution of partial differential equations and related high-dimensional linear algebra problems, and parallel algorithms.

  • Fast iterative solvers for large systems of linear and nonlinear equations
  • Krylov subspace methods and preconditioning
  • Multigrid and domain decomposition methods
  • Parallel computing including parallel in time methods

My current research is on high performance and large scale computations with a focus on the analysis of data from scientific simulations.

 Recent projects

  • PhD thesis of Thibaut Lunet on time parallel methods for the simulation of turbulent compressible flows. This is in collaboration with Julien Bodart (ISAE-SUPAERO, DAEP) and Serge Gratton (IRIT). Funding from the Occitanie Region, CERFACS and ISAE-SUPAERO (January 2015-December 2017).
  • INFIDHEM ANR-DFG project on port-Hamiltonian systems. (February 2017 - March 2020).

 Teaching (academic year 2017-2018)
