Numbers, it’s all about numbers ! Do you publish enough ? What does it mean enough ? Journal impact factor & quartile ? Number of citations ? The number of journal publications is a standard measure of “productivity” and “excellence” in the research world. This numbers’ obsession is somehow leading to a “paper engineering”. The 21st century research/science is not driven by excellence… it’s all about numbers !
