Biography

Mis à jour le

Eric Chaumette received in 1989 both the Engineer degree in electronics from ENAC, and the M.Sc. degrees in Signal Processing from ENSEEIHT, University of Toulouse, France. From 1990 to 2013, he worked as a research engineer involved in radar detection and estimation performance, first with Thales (1990-2007) and second with the French Aerospace Lab (ONERA, 2008-2013). From 2000 to 2014, he was also an associate researcher at laboratory SATIE, CNRS, ENS de Cachan, France, where he received a PhD degree in 2004 and the accreditation to supervise research (HDR) in 2014. He is currently a Professor with the Electronics, Optronics and Signal Department (DEOS) of ISAE-Supaéro, Toulouse. Main domains of interest are related to detection and estimation theory applied to radar, GNSS and navigation.

My industrial career has been devoted to ground based radar with expertise in :

  • signal processing :
    • joint detection estimation problem : monopulse processing, long term integration, computation of lower bound for deterministic parameters,
    • array processing : wide band anti-jamming, direction of arrival estimation, polarization processing, self-calibration, sources separation with higher order statistics.
  • radar Front-End modelling (from the transmitter to elementary detections) :
    • designer and developer of Front-End libraries, participation in Eurofinder programs involving the use of Front-End libraries,
    • supervision of development of radar simulators for supporting programs (new radar design or evolution of existing radars) or projects (answer to call for offer).

2007-2014 ONERA (The French Aerospace Lab)
Research Engineer in the Signal Processing Group, Electromagnetism and Radar Department

1990 - 2007 THALES
Research Engineer in various Signal Processing Groups
